TAMANU SEED OIL

Tamanu seed oil comes from the fruit of the homonymous trees that grow spontaneously in our atolls; they are found here and there between turquoise lagoons and coconut trees which represent the dominant vegetation.

The Tamanu tree, whose scientific name is Calophyllum inophyllum, loves to grow in coral soils, at the edge of the beaches, producing a rounded nut that once it reaches maturity falls at the foot of the tree and begins to dry on the sand.

It is here that nuts are collected in bags and sent to our oil mill where they are opened by hand one by one. The content is further exposed to the sun and the polynesian breeze for more than a month until optimal drying; only then we proceed with the cold pressing with which we obtain our precious virgin and 100% pure oil.

For centuries, Tamanu seed oil has been used by the Polynesians to treat and alleviate a whole series of skin diseases: psoriasis, burns, abrasions, stretch marks, scars and to hydrate and tone the epidermis as a anti-aging remedy.
